This is a little strange. I have not seen this before. Please attach to the running gnucash process with gdb and send me the backtrace. For example: % gnucash & [1] 22768 Now wait a few minutes until you are certain it has hung and... % gdb attach 22768 (gdb) bt And send me the results privately. Note that you are highly unlikely to see 22768, just use the number printed after you type 'gnucash &'.
