Quite simple: refuse to restore dialect 1 database with a clear error message and advise people to migrate their database to dialect 3 on Firebird 2.5 or earlier. IMHO This should have happened earlier (eg with Firebird 2). Dropping this kind of deprecated baggage would be a good thing; especially as there is an alternative for people still using dialect 1 (afaik 12+ years after it was deprecated in favor of dialect 3).
