It "is in support" by who? Looks like by Redhat itself, not by the
Kernel developers. I doubt the Kernel developers will care about
2.6.18.x up to 2020.

So Redhat must then "support" Firebird and all the software present in
its distro, not ask for the software developers to maintain for them.
