How many times per day do you modify autoconfig.h? Why?

Running boot build may look annoying, but it's a really good first step 
in testing the new changes.

I'd say this is the only good reason. Although I'm not sure that 
accessing the same filesystem from Lin/Win for compilation purposes is a 
clever idea. I recall that our Windows build didn't like the LF line 
ending in the past (probably in the .bat files), dunno about nowadays.

Personally, I've chosen a local repo (to keep builds in sync) and local 
filesystem checkouts inside the appropriate VMs.
