Thank you very much for your fast & extensive response!

In fact I'm still stucked on debian oldstable (2.6.32) which explains
the build issue. And the SIGSEV occurs only in a specific border use-case.

Anyway - I opened GitHub issues #1475, #1476, #1477 to track those.
