Notes from today's FIXatdl meeting

Errata to both the in-line xsd file annotations, and the Word documentation
received to date were fully reviewed today. Open JIRA issues (bugs found and
work arounds) albeit minor, were also reviewed.

The v1.1 release remains remarkably stable. Many firms are now in active
development or full deployment.

The WG today decided to defer doing even an errata update for at least a month.

This will involve updating only the in-line documentation and the accompanying
Word documentation. Currently the plan is to review everything in this errata
area at the July Work Group meeting and if there are sufficient items to
warrant it, to shortly thereafter issue revised xsds (changing only in-line
annotations) and a revised Word documentation file - red-lined for changes.

An errata update will in no way change the programming functionality of the
released v1.1 files.

Based on very few requests for urgently needed features, bugs, etc. to date
there is absolutely no fixed time frame for issuing a service pack or minor
upgrade that would alter or add functionality. No firms are currently reporting
debilitating experiences with v1.1 as released despite escalating usage by a
broad array of different firms, widely geographically dispersed.

v1.1 adoption continues
BarCap v1.1 samples are posted on the work group site. Morgan Stanly v1.1 files
are available from contacts listed on the FPL website. Nomura files are
available upon request. A visual example (of English and Japanese versions) of
Nomura's numerous strategies is posted in the FPL Asia Pacific Presentation at
the WG site. http://www.fixprotocol.org/working_groups/algowg Other major
broker dealer v1.1 files are well known to be available privately. Some are
also known to be in development for public distributions expected over the next
several months. The best place to start research on these firms is here:

There is a new FIXatdl Group on Linked-In which may be extremely beneficial for
direct sales and marketing linking. The best place for technical information
and communication remains the Algorithmic Trading Forum at FPL
http://www.fixprotocol.org/discuss/31

Firms planning on distributing FIXatdl v1.1 files, products or services should
update their listings on the FPL Web Site (your system admin can "self serve"
building these pages directly) http://www.fixprotocol.org/products/12

Tool vendors and consultants continue to be extremely actively involved with
v1.1

The free, open source software library atdl4j has a nice new web presence and
continuing strong activity: http://atdl4j.org/

For additional outreach Scott Attwel will personally present FIXatdl at the
Latin America Conference August 9th held in Sao Paulo.

Next Work Group meeting July 7th at Noon ET.
