I don't think we are the only ones that lost VAC capability.
But I do think there are a very small number of digital contester/dxers 
(relatively speaking) using the SVN's.

When in a contest, I prefer to use the rock solid v1.10.2
Same for DXing.

I just use the SVN's for 'learning' realy.

Yes, if you use the panadaptor to it's fullest, it can really give you an 
advantage.
Careful placement of your transmitted signal is more important than power.
