John, I found the bug quite by accident while troubleshooting a different problem. I noticed that, what I thought was the serial port dying, was actually an exception occuring in the KY command because I was trying to trim a character of zero length (which only occured when a blank KY command was sent to the CAT parser. Easy to fix once it was found. Glad it's working good for you.
Ah, Bengali Signature paddle. I'm green with envy, my ancient Poucel El-Key is also jealous. I am in the process of testing com0com (com zero com), an open source virtual port system, with PowerSDR. The creator of this program just made some changes we requested and it seems to perform well with DXLab Commander, HRD, and N1MM. Additional programs available with com0com, that I have not tested yet, is a 4 port hub for connecting several programs to a single virtual pair and a TCP to serial bridge.
