My Honda EU2000i inverter generator also puts out a very clean sine wave. If you look reeeeal close you can see the inverter "steps", but it's NOTHING like a modified sine wave inverter like you'd plug into your cigarette lighter socket to power something. Jim KQ6EA

However, will have to confess, never operated a radio with it. The Square waves consist of lots and lots of useless noise. __________________________________________________________ Howard S. White Ph.D. P. Heavy duty extension cord routed from the generator through a window into my shack to a power strip. Computer, monitor, and DC power supply for the flex plugged into power strip. Generator started, computer, dc power supply, monitor, and flex turned on. Everything looks fine while operating - that is, the computer boots up just fine, the monitor looks great, power sdr launches just fine. Then I notice a few odd things: Noise on all bands audible in the headset connected to the flex that require I select the noise blankers on powersdr. Seeing hardly any transmissions at all on the panadapter and those are pretty low signal strength. I switch back to normal utility company power and bazillions of signals are now seen on the panadapter and of course no noise requiring the noise blanker filters. Clearly the generator is creating rf interference and most likely the extension cord running from the generator to my shack is resonating causing a larger noise problem. Why, though, is reception so negatively affected when running off of the generator. I'm thinking I should take the generator ac outlet apart and install some RF chokes. Any recommendations about which ones and where to acquire them? Any other thoughts on this? Thanks very much Jim WD7W _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/ _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/ _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/ _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/
