Contesting (with the Flex1500) isn't about the weekend. It's about the weeks
(or years) of work setting up the antenna systems, the ergonomics of the
station, the finding the right headphones, paddles and mic. It's about having
friends come over to help lift the beam into place. It's about experiencing how
certain bands change as the earth rotates and the terminator makes impossible
contacts possible. It's about working operators who have honed their listening
skills to the point that they can actually hear my five watt signal that's
buried under the 800-watt heavyweights. It's about accomplishing DXCC inside of
48 hours.

It's about having fun. Never been on 60 meters but it's nice there's a place
for some people to go.

Best regards,
