There are 6 reviews for the 6500 and 1 for the 6700 on eHam.

And I agree with Ron. There are some very hostile people towards Flex on eHam, especially in the SDR forum.

One guy sold his early 5000, and still trashes Flex without provocation.

One thing I have noticed ...

Considering the number of 6xxx radios shipped and in use, I
expected to see some reviews on e-Ham.

Any reason for this ??

Ken,

I think you've hit the mark on your advice. I sold my Flex-5000
prematurely, thinking more about market value and less about the possible down side of ordering an early FlexRadio. Luckily, I have a KX3 that I've
been using - it's a great radio, but 12 watts max transmit power is
limiting.

I have a 6500 and, like you, am disappointed that many features that I grew
to love on the 5000 are still futures in the "yet to be Smart" SDR. If I
had my 5000 still, I would at least have those capabilities, which are
mature and stable.

Good Morning,

I see all of these excellent 5000A radios up for sale. I sold mine way
last year in anticipation for my 6700. I kept a 3000 for a back up.

While I am impressed with the 6700 and I know that, in time, the software will finally mature as It is truly the radio of the future. I find that I usually use the 3000 as my "go to radio". there are so many features that just work, and work extremely well, features that may be incorporated into
the 6000 series at some future date.

Not that the 6700 preforms poorly, but there are all those little things that need to be checked, tweaked, adjusted, and screwed around every time I
use it.

Adjusting the spectrum band width, find the correct frequency, mode,
making sure that the + 20db gain button has been pushed, tweak the receive
equalizer to reset its setup and adjust the many other features to my
preference.......... and then, begin operating.

Better hold on to your 3000 or 5000A for a while and enjoy the quality and
ease of operation from these radios for a while.
