I'm using an Audio Technica ATR30 with the built-in equalizer in my 5000A.
The mic has a frequency response of 60~15kHz, is designed for vocals, and cost $30.
And I get the famed "unsolicited reports of great audio" using it. Personally, I just can't see spending huge bucks on a microphone for SSB.
