Steve No the Wifi is built in. If you do not see any Wifi networks you may have a defective unit. It should not take long for them to show up if they are broadcasting a SSID. My first unit had defective Wifi and Flex promptly replaced it but you must open a support ticket so they can determine that. Seems if you do it by phone it's harder to get the ball rolling. Have you tried a wired connection with CAT cable?
