We shouldn't: fg/SDL breaks on Swedish keyboards at least. For example "]" is on AltGr-9, that works with both GLUT and FreeGLUT but not with SDL. I don't know if SDL is broken with other keyboards with AltGr. Sure this problem can be worked around by changing key mappings but why should non-US users have to do that? Also I don't know if this bug is in SDL itself of in fg's usage of SDL, nor do I know how to check.
