No, I just think the nose is easier to identify and model than the wing root
in most cases.  This has been discussed on the list quite extensively in the past.
Significant changes in the nose would result in changes in aerodynamics, so if
we want to be that accurate then we should know what configuration the FDM is
modeling.  If a fixed nose location can be identified by the flight dynamcis
modelers, then that seems satisfactory.  The 3D modelers can always fudge
things one way or another if they want.  And FWIW I don't think tubes need to
be included,  but I'm satisfied getting the FDM modeler's opinion on that on
an aircraft by aircraft basis.
