Honestly, I wouldn't dare giving any promise to buy a piece of hardware
if "they might make some Linux software":
You don't know if the software really works as expected any you don't
know if they make their programming interface open to the public.
Better they make an API description available to everyone so FlightGear
developers could adapt the existing serial stack without having to
depend on separate closed source drivers.
