I have my own helipad in KSFO since a long time. It put it on some arbitrary place. Today I looked for a Real Life helipad and added it to my scenery. I wanted first to commit it, but thanks to mipmapping effects it simply looked too ugly when viewed from flat angles. (One would need a way to tell plib not to mipmap some textures.) Here's a screenshot:
http://members.aon.at/mfranz/helipad.jpg [14 kB] It's modeled pretty exactly after the real thing. If someone wants to add it to his/her scenery: go to $FG_ROOT/Scenery/Objects/w130n30/w123n37/, unpack the attached archive there (has only 850 bytes :-), and make this change to file $FG_ROOT/Scenery/Objects/w130n30/w123n37/942050.stg: diff -u -p -r1.2 942058.stg --- 942058.stg 3 Aug 2004 19:12:50 -0000 1.2 +++ 942058.stg 12 Aug 2006 15:51:16 -0000 @@ -1,5 +1,6 @@ OBJECT_STATIC KSFO-maint-1-fb.ac -122.377127 37.62647917 0.5 62 OBJECT_STATIC candlestickpark-fb.xml -122.3838418 37.71570833 1.756719854 0 +OBJECT_STATIC KSFO-helipad.xml -122.39002720 37.62887558 0.9106 332.0 OBJECT_SHARED Models/Structures/radio-medium.xml -122.434667 37.685194 351.1 0 OBJECT_SHARED Models/Structures/radio-medium.xml -122.434806 37.687333 377.6 0 That is: add the line that starts with a +. m.
