Hi Pigeon,
just as a feedback - your live CD works very well on my desktop PC (AMD
64 3700, 1 GB RAM, NVIDIA 6600 GT 256 MB), no wonder as this is common
hardware.
A)
But I get a strange problem when I try to use my joystick/pedals:
1. At first run FlightGear recognizes the joystick but it is very
(unusable) decalibrated
2. Using the joystick calibration tool from the live cd is no problem,
the values are really saved (checked it by running the tool several
times only looking at the values)
3. When I run FlightGear the second time, the joystick and pedals are
recognized ("help -> joystick") by FlightGear but there is absolutely no
response to the joystick/pedal. It seems that FlightGear is getting no
data from the joystick (only the "toggle gear button" of the joysticks works
4. Running the joystick calibration tool while FlightGear is still
running shows that the calibration of both joystick and pedals is optimized.
5. Doing this procedure several times does not change anything - yes,
and of course I selected to use "joystick" in the advanced menu of fgrun :-)
Any ideas?
Anyone else has got the same problem? Or no problems with
joysticks/joystick calibration so far?
B)
Beside this problem it would be a good idea after my opinion if the live
CD would ask the user wheather he wants to calibrate his joystick
*before* starting fgrun. This is not a problem for someone using Linux
but someone using Win$ may be lost searching a tool for joystick
calibration - this is how I felt when I got the very first FG live CD
and was on WinXP at that time.
C)
The FG live CD is very important and you did a fine job, thank you very
much for that.
Regards
