The short summary is that Nasal is a scripting language that is tightly
integrated with FlightGear itself, and provides a very easy way to manipulate
the property tree, which is the core data structure within the simulator. By
the time you are finished you'll be very familiar with both ;)
You can define Nasal scripts within the XML definition of the aircraft, and
trigger functions when properties change. It is very powerful stuff...

The PC-7 is a fairly old FG model and currently uses an XML based electrical
and vacuum system. I don't think it has any hydraulic system modeled at all. I
think you'll probably want to start from scratch and develop a Nasal based
system tuned to your needs. Others on the list may be able to suggest aircraft
to look at for examples.
The maintainer of the PC-7 is Erik Hofman, who has stated before that he is
happy for contributions to the aircraft.
