What I'm after is described in http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/aopa/cfi_vol3issue1/#/4 in the article "The Runway Alignment Reflex" The article is worth a read, for two reasons.
The first is the topic. It explains a lot about landing. Second is its description of a simulator behavior I'd very much like to use in flightgear. I've frequently used the feature of flightgear that allows you to place the aircraft in the air, with a given heading and speed. This lets me try landings repeatedly. It's great for retrying a botched landing or a missed approach without totally going around. Problem 1 is that when you reach the point in the air, the engine is not running. We can deal with that, its just an engine out scenario. We've all tried those haven't we? At any rate it would be nice to have the engine up and running at the start. Problem 2 is not being able to store and retrieve to start again at the same point in a separate session. Are these features already a part of flightgear? If so how do they work? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 positioned as A LEADER in The Forrester Wave(TM): Endpoint Security, Q1 2013 and "remains a good choice" in the endpoint security space.
