the piece you are refering to is called "root" and consists of 25 guitar
'pieces' by thurston moore that he sent off to remixers like luke vibert,
alec empire; bands like stereolab and mogwai; noise artists like merzbow;
and people that fall somewhere inbetween like derek baily and david
cunningham (who was the core of the flying lizards, scored sid vicious' 'my
way', recently collaborated with visual artist martin creed, etc).

the disk came out last year in a deluxe, limited package, or as a regular
disk - which is still available if you search a little.
