How shockingly awful! Like some others it seems, I had absolutely no idea
she was ill. In hindsight I realize her "decorate my bald head" contest
should have given me a clue. (Duh!)
Although I really didn't know the Princess other than via her lively
postings to this list, I have known other people with particularly
pernicious cancers. It's always devastating to have people we love and care
about leave us, no matter how much we think we're prepared for the departure
we never are. We can take some small comfort in knowing that her painful
ordeals are over. This should be a reassuring thought (theoretically), but
the bottom line is -- it sucks. There's no denying it.
It just sucks.
My sympathies go to those who loved her best.
