Help, anyone....??
I have a multi-file, multi-user filemaker database system running with
Filemaker Server 10.
Some users have Filemaker 10, while others have Filemaker 9.
In various scripts that I originally wrote in Filemaker 9, strange
errors are happening
when people with only Filemaker 9 try to use them. When I run the
script with the same
permissions set on my computer (with Filemaker 10), the script works
fine.
That would suggest all I need to do is update everyone to Filemaker
10--BUT--there
are other scripts that don't work right for some users with Filemaker
10, but still
work fine in Filemaker 9 for them, and work fine for me with Filemaker
10 advanced
(this is all via the same server, same files).
The scripts where I have seen this are so far happening when the user
is in one file
under a specific user permissions set and is opening the other file
via a guest
permissions set.
Does anyone know what might have changed between version 9 and 10 of
the server,
or the application itself, that could possibly account for these sorts
of problems?
I am really at a loss for what is going on and getting quite
frustrated in trying
to get all the scripts working right for everyone again.
Thanks for any hints or suggestions--I have used Filemaker a lot, but
I still regard
my skill with Filemaker as that of an experienced beginner--I am not
an expert
(perhaps obviously :) ).
