Tim, You're correct to observe that the mpxlf90 stanza "points" to all of the IBM MPI libraries. You could customize the xlf.cfg to point to MPICH just as well and of course, it might be the best way to do it if there are a number of users attempting to access the same configuration. But I'd have to ask "Is there a specific reason why you're not using the IBM library?" Are you running on a cluster of AIX workstations? I'm not sure whether you need the references to poe to use MPICH since I've never used it. Still, the easiest means to your end might be to copy the mpxlf stanza and customize the -L and -I components of the copied stanza naming it something else (say mpich_xlf). For the sake of sanity, you will likely wish to make sure the mpich library something other than libmpi. That way, you'll never accidentally link to the IBM library if it is present.
