Actually, that is how I used to do it a year ago, but :
- It's a bit cumbersome to update skins when you have multiple repositories
- The skin and the repo must be kept in sync
- I noticed some weird behavior when using the embedded documentation
mechanism to serve css or javascript: sometimes the page needs to be
refreshed (F5) to display properly as if the (css) file had not been served
