We have a nodebus system with an AB30 gateway connected to 3 PLC's over phone lines via modems. The three modems are connected to the gateway on an RS485 chain to the gateway. However, when one modem link fails ( bad phone line? ) the gateway communication eventually fails to all 3 modems. The only successful recovery has been to reboot the AB30. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? We are experimenting with periods, phasing, watchdog timer, retries, etc. to segregate the traffic. Suggestions? Solutions? Stephen T.
