Hi...

I wrote some mails to Joost van der Sluis notifying that there is a strange bug in FPC 2.2.1 ( http://svn.freepascal.org/svn/fpc/branches/fixes_2_2 ) regarding SQLdb.

When I select DECIMAL colums with mysql, I get a "Invalid field size" exception even if I don't use it (I don't fetcìh them with FieldByName). Joost said me that the cause is "a patch in r2.3.1 which shoudn't be merged to fpc 2.1.1. but someone did".
After that I didn't speak with him anymore.

My question is... how can I fix that?

I've merged the patches to fix this problem to fpc 2.1.1. So you can use
the snapshot from tomorrow.
Thereafter you can use that version until you encounter a certain
problem which is fixed in a newer version of fpc 2.1.1. At that point
you have to decide if you update again...

Joost
Thank you so much...

However: no problem to downgrade a little, but didn't you said me once that to use sqldb on linux 64 bit I have to use at least 2.2 ? The last time I was with an older version of fpc I had the "could not connect" error...

Also, can you say me what svn repository to use?
http://svn.freepascal.org/svn/fpc/tags/

Is it 2.1.2?

Will it work with lazarus 0.9.23?

Thank you again,
Alvise
