Herbed Chicken

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

3 pounds broiler-fryer chicken
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons vegetable or olive oil
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
2 cloves garlic -- finely chopped

Cut chicken into pieces and remove skin. Heat butter and oil in rectangular 
baking pan, in 375 degree oven until butter is melted. Stir in remaining 
ingredients except chicken. Place chicken, meaty sides down in pan, turning to 
coat with herb mixture. Bake uncovered 30 minutes. Turn chicken; bake until 
thickest pieces are done, about 30 minutes longer.
