Besides not actually expanding, the current line in defaults.sh
${NANO_OBJ:=/usr/obj/nanobsd.${NANO_NAME}${NANO_LAYOUT}:+.${NANO_LAYOUT}}
adds a colon to ${PATH} during the buildworld, which leads to make not finding
clang-tblgen (and possible others as well). Instead, the line should read
${NANO_OBJ:=/usr/obj/nanobsd.${NANO_NAME}${NANO_LAYOUT:+.${NANO_LAYOUT}}}
