Dave, could you please describe you test set? I've posted some results months ago and they were kind different.
I have done some tests [1] [2] with bind and queryperf and my result on FreeBSD 6.1 was very poor if compared with 4.11. Besides this, I have had bad results with NSD + 6.1 too and it doesn't use threads. Because of that I realized that there is something strange with UDP traffic on 6.1, as it was discussed in the threads below.
