The dependencies themselves are stored as @pkgdep lines in the /var/db/pkg/packagename/+CONTENTS file. The reverse link is stored in /var/db/pkg/packagename/+REQUIRED_BY . You can list the dependencies with the "pkg_info -r packagename" command, and the packages that require a package with "pkg_info -R packagename".
