FWIW, I've run into this a couple of times recently when logging out of X. This is with X.Org X Server 1.10.6 and a "ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro" on 8-STABLE r235229. The problem seems to go away after a couple of hours. -- Peter Jeremy
