The compile has finished successfully. Took 1 hour 15 minutes. Another user also mailed me (privately) adding that he too cannot reproduce this problem. I will attempt the same with your make.conf to see if it's any different. But at this point, it appears the issue is with your system or system configuration. I just wish I knew what was doing it.
