Honestly,if you ask me,every computer around the world was made with ONE flaw:The BIOS contains a static language set.Pure DOS mode kernels (like FreeDOS) use BIOS to display ASCII characters.BIOS should have a country setting where it has MULTIPLE ASCII character sets for each country (So you could have DOS displaying everything in Japanese,or Dutch,or..you get the idea).I've looked into this a bit,and creating our own ASCII font is just bizarre (Thought that would be cool to make everyone install our own BIOS).Perhaps we could ask some fellow devs in other countries how they read their 16 bit systems?I mean,I am pretty sure that all programming languages use English (IF..THEN..ELSE).A lot of countries DO use MS-DOS/FreeDOS in some way shape or form.Just an idea I am tossing out,as certain languages can't be displayed without graphical fonts. And,as an added question, how did they manage to make DOS readable to all these countries back in the 80s and 90s?Regards, Jayden
