Dear friends of the Baltimore Ethical Society, We've moved the Fall Festival to this Sunday (11/23) because too many families would be away on Thanksgiving weekend. We'll be making a salad together and there will be stew. The Sunday School will perform a skit about water resources. Hugh Taft-Morales will offer a short platform address called, “Hunger of Body and Conscience” about the struggle many of us have knowing about the horrors of world hunger but feeling inadequate to the challenge.
Join the meetup here: http://meetu.ps/2CXqwC The following Sunday, Nov. 30, we'll hear Hugh give a platform address titled "Thinking Outside the Box". This will be pre-recorded since Hugh will be travelling. Instead of Q&A, we'll discuss and brainstorm "out of the box" ideas to grow our society. Here's the description. Title: Thinking Outside the Box "The human race is confounded by our stubborn reliance on patterns of behavior that don’t work. Often we approach overwhelming problems – like climate change, racism, and war – in ways that haven’t worked in the past, and probably won’t work in the future. We need some more radical creativity in our world. Hugh Taft-Morales explores ways we can learn, brainstorm and think outside of the box to lead more flourishing lives and save the world!" Join the meetup here: http://meetu.ps/2CPly0 At 2:00 pm on the 30th is the next Sunday Assembly Baltimore. The theme of the month is Gratitude. http://www.SundayAssemblyBaltimore.com/ . Thanks, and best wishes for your Thanksgiving holidays, --Emil -- Emil Volcheck, President Baltimore Ethical Society presid...@bmorethical.org _______________________________________________ Friends mailing list Friends@baltimoreethicalsociety.org http://baltimoreethicalsociety.org/mailman/listinfo/friends_baltimoreethicalsociety.org
