Dear BES Members & Friends, Starting Sunday January 6th, presiders will no longer take announcements from the audience. If you would like to have an announcement made, please write it down on an index card and give the card to the presider anytime before the end of talk, but before announcements begin. The presider will read your card during announcements. Blank index cards will be available at the welcome table. Please use the cards (i.e. do not simply hand the presider a flyer for your event).
This change was made by the Program Committee in response to concerns raised by members that announcements have gotten too long and are often eating into time for questions and comments after the talk. It is the committee's hope that this change will address the issue. In addition to submitting an announcement to the presider the morning of platform, you are always welcome to send it to edi...@bemorethical.org and it will be included in the Society's monthly newsletter.
