"Man's desires are unlimited."
 
It occurs to me that I would have no trouble with this statement if is said instead:
 
"Man's desires are potentially unlimited."
 
as for:
 
"Man seeks to satisfy his desires with the least exertion."
 
If it said instead
 
"Man seeks to find the ideal balance of his available energy with the greatest accomplishment"   I could go along with that as well.  
 
 
Now, what is the difference?
