If you're not sure and want to keep your options open, just install the 
Mac OS 9 drivers on your disk(s). That way, you could install 9.x later 
on. If you don't install the Mac OS 9 drivers, you possibly might have to 
reformat (or at least fire up Disk Utility) before you could install Mac 
OS 9.x...
