>Summary: IM beginning with \'?\' fails with \"No such command.\" message

Initial Comment:
Using Gaim 1.1.4 for windows, if I type in a message to
someone using AIM protocol, if the message begins with
a "/" (forward slash), it is not sent to the recipeint,
and I get a "No such command." message in its place in
the upper window.

The person I"m IMing with, who is using AOL's client
(don't know what version) CAN send me messages
beginning with "/".

There is a workaround: you can use the /say <message> slash command. For
example, if you type "/say /this message begins with a /!". Then you will
have sent a message starting with a slash. That was on AIM, but it probably
will work on IRC as well.

So we should close this bug and request

Tools -> Preferences -> Conversations -> "Send unknown
"slash" commands as messages"

as default?

maybe I'm naive, but it's not apparent to the casual user
that there ARE slash commands--of any sort. So, might it not
make sense to have this default to enabled?

I seem to have made a TYPO in my report, it is FORWARD SLASH
I'm referring to, not QUESTION MARK.
