I though we agreed we will be releasing an alpha as soon as the following is completed : 1) branch is created 2) the build process is fixed so that a snapshot can be generated 3) the binary compatibility API numbers are prepared for a stable release if that is the case, fixing those MMODULE numbers and maybe the libganglia version will be all that is missing. it is important to call it an "alpha" mainly because it won't build out of the box in all supported architectures and because we might be forced to break compatibility in some interfaces if real world testing shows they are not appropriate.
