I'm curious about the naming convention too, is this meant to be a release candidate (i.e. still in a cooling off period)?
For Debian packaging, the file is renamed anyway, the tools expect ganglia-web_3.5.1.orig.tar.gz - but it is really important that the internal structure of the file is the same, and because Debian tracks the upstream releases in git, it would be a real nightmare if another 3.5.1 tarball came out, so if there is further change, it should be released as 3.5.2 (and not 3.5.1-2) On 15/07/12 07:05, Bernard Li wrote: > Hi Vladimir: > > I am having problems building RPM with the release tarball you > uploaded to SourceForge: > > $ rpmbuild -tb ganglia-web-3.5.1-1.tar.gz > error: File /home/bernardl/download.d/ganglia-web-3.5.1.tar.gz: No > such file or directory > > Should I just rename the tarball and re-upload to SourceForge? > > Thanks, > > Bernard > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Live Security Virtual Conference > Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and > threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
