Thx!

Notes for others: you must install libe 0.3.0 to compile gexec 0.3.6. libe 0.3.0 can
be found from the URL provided by Babu below.

The gexec-0.3.6 available from http://www.theether.org/gexec does not
build with 3.0.* versions of Ganglia. It builds correctly only with 2.*
versions. If you want to build with Ganglia 3, edit the gexec.c to include
/usr/include/ganglia.h and not /usr/include/ganglia/gexec_funcs.h. Of
course, you have to have ganglia-devel installed for this to work. Another
thing, in addition to the above, you have to add #include <e/llist.h> to
gexec.c in order to successfully build the gexec.

I have built a SRPM and RPMs (FC4 and FC5 on i386) for gexec with these
modifications as part of my Google Summer of Code with OSCAR and it has
been tested to work with Ganglia 3. If interested, you can grab it from
the repository at:

http://svn.oscar.openclustergroup.org/svn/oscar-soc/soc-2006/hpcmetrics/ganglia/

You can try to grab newer RPMs here:

Not sure it they work with Ganglia 3 though...

Does anybody know the current state of GEXEC? Is it known to be compatible
with Ganglia 3?

Cheers,

Bernard

Subject: [Ganglia-developers] Unable to build gexe with ganglia 3

Hi,

In building of gexe RPM, I meet the error:

gexec.c:39:33: ganglia/gexec_funcs.h: No such file or directory

I find that ganglia-devel of Ganglia 2 does contain the file
/usr/include/ganglia/gexec_funcs.h, but not in Ganglia 3.
May anyone help? Thank you.

Ganglia version: 3.0.3
gexec version: 0.3.4
