one of the advantages of having the snapshots built is also that whoever made the changes can use them to test. ideally we could add some automatic test cases too after the build in the long run, but I don't think that anyone expect much from the snapshots other than they can be built (which is implicit if you are also planning on building RPMs) > I think if we want to setup some sort of automatic snapshot creation, > we need to be able to build and serve the files from the same server. agree, will be much simple that way, but the builds could be also uploaded to sourceforge's server (or wherever those snapshots are being posted) in an automatic way if the build server is also online 24/7 and can be scripted appropriately. > If someone can donate such a service to Ganglia I can look into it. the only server I have online 24/7 is that RHEL3 box which has really ancient versions of autotools which I am yet not sure will work and has no subversion (hence no way to checkout locally).
