This is really your call. I prefer installing from packages, some prefer
building from source. There is really no right or wrong way.

Till now I used to build from source. Then I have tried to install packages:
ganglia-monitoring, gmetad and
ganglia-webfront. I still need to configure few things, since it doesn't work
out of the box, and it confuses me a
bit, since I'd expect packages will just play after installation.
