Hi, I have a system comprising 100 compute nodes, 2 administration nodes (in a high-availability set-up) and a dedicated log-in node. I would like to monitor these three groups separately and save the RRD files in file system provided by either NFS or DRBD.
My questions are: 1. Is each of the three groups a separate "cluster" within Ganglia? 2. Is it possible to define a data source without specifying any members of the group? (At any time, any of the compute nodes may be powered-down for energy saving reasons, so it is unclear to me how the data source should be defined). 3. Can I use a floating address such as admin.my.cluster, which is points at either admin1.my.cluster or admin2.my.cluster, depending which machine is the active one in HA set-up? If so, how can I have the names reported on the graphs admin1 and admin2, rather than admin and admin1 or admin and admin2?
