understand your psychology.
When any such GB parties are arranged, do you arrange them for
charity? Or rather let me ask you whether you throw such parties to
the entire community out of your own pocket? Certainly not.
People (Including you) come to enjoy during such event, some even make
money from such parties (either they sell themselves or they sell
tickets)...so I really don' understand...what made you say that 'I
take such parties for granted'?
Also when anyone comes to attend these parties, he or she pays for it,
as nothing comes for free in this world.
So lets not argue on what I feel and what I don't...take things
lightly dude...
And if you are really geared up for fighting then go to Kargil....our
Indian Army needs people like you :-))
Many of us too actively participate in most of the GB events. And I
feel we have every right to know about the factor that caused the
change to our normal routine of having GB parties...Its as simple as
that...
And rather than creating such a silly dispute, you should have
courteously informed everyone about the reason for changing the day
for this event.
Stop taking things personally here.

Second, we would have been only too happy to have the party on a weekend, but we do not always have the luxury of getting weekend dates. Many places don't agree to give their venues on weekends, or they would only do so at a really increased rate.
That's the problem we're now facing at Velocity which has a new management. These guys have told us they have no problems with GB parties, but they are clear that they want to make more money. So for weekend parties it was going to be a sharply increased rate. We didn't want to accept this, or at least not now, but we didn't want to wait too long to have a party either, so we compromised on a Thursday at the old rate.
For the record, we have frequently held parties on weekdays and that;s how it happens in most places - Delhi's Pegs & Pints night is on Tuesdays. Weekend parties is a recent luxury for us and as our current problems in finding places shows, its not one we can count on having.
I think the real problem is that guys like you seem to be taking the GB parties for granted, without realising the problems we still face organising them. Please be assured that we don't do things "at a kick of a thought" but do our best to come up with parties that balance the best interests of everyone, and that is never going to be easy,
