Yes, had the aux.xml There is internal referencing in the sid file (I removed all other files to check) I assume this as it was able to build a projection, but the wrong one (Maybe missing the origin?).
Gdalinfo for the aux file looks good. Could not run gdalinfo on the .sid or .aux.xml file. But looking at the xml it looks fine. Mrsidinfo gives me some of the information but not quite enough. Does an easy way exist to force the use of the .aux or aux.xml for projection over what is in the sid file? How does it take priority of what projection to use from what file? I am assuming the first one it finds (sid->aux.xml->aux). You did have this, right? I can't download the big file (I'm stuck on dialup currently due to technical problems) so I can't easily check what is going on. I *suspect* that there is internal georeferencing in the .sid and GDAL it using it in preference to the info the .aux.xml or perhaps giving preference to the .sdw worldfile. What does a gdalinfo report on this dataset look like? Does it change if you delete the .sdw file?
