In this study, after talking with Even, the full support of IFC was
deemed to exceed the functionalities of GDAL but the transformation of
a limited subset to the Simple Feature model could be supported (such
as the outer hull of a building, the shape of the floor, etc.).

We did not pursue this track as we wanted a full support in QGIS (which
isn't straightforward either).
