I like the idea of creating a DAW specific Darwin profile. That's a great idea, as long as the portage versions of the various apps build properly. The biggest problem I have encountered is that OSX uses older version of GTK+ and automake than many of the portage ebuilds require so the only way to build some of the apps, like JAMin, is to build from CVS. I don't think I know enough to be a Gentoo Dev, otherwise I'd be glad to jump in. I'm in no huge rush to get going, so let's see what comes out of the woodwork in the next 2 weeks.
