please post: xorg.conf used Xorg.0.log dmesg lsmod you can have nv and nvidia installed at the same time. But of course you can not use nv if the nvidia module is loaded. And you can not use nvidia if you have nvidiafb or nouveau drivers built into the kernel/loaded as modules.
